Travel Counselors are responsible for the sales and servicing of American Express client travel arrangements for individual leisure and/or groups. This includes domestic and international air/rail transportation, hotels, cruises, tours and car rentals. Travel Counselors are also responsible for building repeat clientele to achieve sales goals. Sell Preferred Vendors in all aspects of Tour/Cruise business. Ability to counsel and close travel sales, including multiple products of insurance, Travelers Cheques, FX, etc. Ability to sell up, cross-sell, and build on referral customers to maximize profitability. Superior customer service and multi-tasking skills required.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Minimum 3+ years selling experience in all areas of travel. SABRE computer reservations experience preferred. Extensive domestic and international destination knowledge required. Ability to work under pressure coupled with an orientation for quality sales. Exceptional customer service skills are a must. This position requires decisive and successful problem solving skills, excellent written and verbal communication skills and the ability to use the Internet effectively to service customer needs. The ability to work flexible shifts essential.
