Travel Counselor I TINS - Harvard Sq | American Express | Cambridge, MA

Responsible for providing travel services for American Express premium Cardmembers in a Travel Service Office environment. Travel Counselors are responsible for providing quality service, timely and accurate completion of leisure travel arrangements and the sale of value added services. Assisting Platinum and Centurion Cardmembers with all leisure travel needs including international and domestic leisure reservations is a primary responsibility. The candidate must be self-motivated and have the ability to perform in a team environment. This position requires flexibility to work various shifts as determined by customer call volumes and business needs

QUALIFICATIONS:

Minimum of three (3) years experience selling in all areas of leisure travel and a strong background in Cruise and Tour. Full service travel agency background preferred. SABRE computer reservations experience and knowledge of Cruise Director preferred. Excellent domestic and international destination knowledge. Ability to work under pressure in a fast paced and changing environment coupled with an orientation for quality sales. Exceptional customer service skills are a must. This position requires decisive and successful problem solving skills, excellent written and verbal communication skills and the ability to use the internet effectively to service customer needs. Flexibility to work various shifts is required as determined by customer call volumes and business needs which may include weekends.

Employment eligibility to work with American Express in the U.S. is required as the company will not pursue visa sponsorship for these positions.
